National Women’s History Month. Swellter Honors Professor Margaret Oakley Dayhoff

As a veteran in cancer diagnostics and having the privilege of watching the evolution of single gene testing to genomic sequencing, it feels most appropriate for us to honor the life and works of Professor Margaret Oakley Dayhoff. Professor Margaret Oakley Dayhoff is known as the founder of bioinformatics. Her methods helped shape major break throughs, such as The Human Genome Project. If it wasn’t for The Human Genome Project, many of diseases such as cancer, would not have both the targeted testing and targeted therapies we have today, and in the future. #patientsfirst #womeninscience #bioinformatics #precisionmedicine
